Big Green Machine – Are You Ready For Some Sick Spins ?

The big green machine is an update on the original tricycle design that was made popular by Huffy bicycle company in the mid 1970's. The tricycle was originally designed for young children that where just coming to terms with learning how to ride a bicycle. The trike obviously afforded far more stability for the young rider and allowed them to focus on coordination (hand eye) , responsibility and gaining confidence. They could then progress onto a two wheel machine to learn balance and other essential skills necessary.

To this extent, the big green machine 2 is a slight departure. It is not only a good primer for the bicycle but it is also heaps of fun too. You will find that once your child has learned to ride a bicycle, he/she will return to the green machine again and again, simply because it is so much fun.

The fun starts with the innovative design. Steering is done by controlling the rear wheels as opposed to the standard front wheel steering. The side rear wheel base means the rider can pull some pretty tight turns without loosing balance. The lower center of gravity also helps to keep the machine stable in high speed maneuvers. The control of the rear wheels is done by two joysticks. This is a highly original steering control system that will allow the rider to stay centered when pulling tight turns. Again, this ensures stability of the machine. 

The design of the big green machine 2 is also top notch. The machine had disk brakes, a durable steel crankshaft, ergonomic and adjustable seat and control levers. The front wheel comes in at 21 inches diameter. The rear wheels are slick, go cart like tires. There is a safety flag that attaches to the rear of the machine. And of course, the machine comes in a shocking lime green color, just what every kids loves to be seen riding. (update :- there is now a pink green machine, for girls no doubt and an aqua colored green machine, that has water pistols on).
